Katcon Global S.A., a global manufacturer of exhaust systems headquartered in Mexico, acquired Frankenthal-based Wendt-Automotive GmbH, a prototype and volume producer for high-temperature insulation products for the automotive industry, by way of a share deal from private equity company Pinova Capital GmbH in Munich.
Wendt-Automotive GmbH acts as a provider of engineering services to the automotive industry and offers its clients a complete range of services in the field of prototype and volume production for high-temperature insulation situations (up to 1,000 °C) with a focus on exhaust gas components. Its core competence lies in cost-effective prototyping, a field in which the company enjoys significant differentiation from its competitors. Its target clients are OEMs and leading tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers to the automotive industry from the commercial vehicles segment in particular.
Katcon Global, S.A. is a family-owned global tier-1 supplier specialising in the development, design, testing and manufacture of components for the automotive industry. It focuses on exhaust systems and catalysts. The Mexican-based company operates manufacturing facilities and development centres in more than 10 countries worldwide, including Mexico, the United States, South Korea, Luxembourg, Poland, China, India and Australia. With the acquisition, Katcon is extending its global footprint to Germany.
